As we care about cameras and imaging equipment, the most striking thing about the 2021 Oscars are the cameras used in the Oscars for best cinematography.
The 2021 Academy Awards ceremony may be postponed until the end of April, but the race continues anyway. Among the potential contenders (and the cameras in use) in the 2021 Oscars will come to an important list.
Each year, Variety introduces the potential nominees for the Academy Awards and lists the most likely winners from each category. And every year we find that the Oscar for "Best Cinematography" is not linked only to the cinematographer who wins. But also with the camera that was used. So what is the most successful camera that won these awards? You will now know the answer!

Analysis of expected 2021 Oscars results
There are some hidden facts on this list that I think are worth noting. Firstly, the prominence of internet movie streaming services appears to be on these winning lists which is undeniable. There are four versions of Netflix in this top ten list and one from Amazon Studios. This represents 50% of the top ten 2021 Academy Awards nominees in the "Best Cinematography" category. This is of course at least partly due to the fact that many cinemas are closed due to the spread of Corona.
Second, there is only one feature film on this list that was shot with a RED camera, but admittedly, it is at the top of the list. The vast majority of the feature films mentioned above were shot with ARRI cameras. Some Panavision and IMAX systems have also been used.
But other brands like Canon or Sony VENICE are completely absent from this list.
So the dominant camera brand is, as in the previous Acadamdy Awards, ARRI. As indicated in Jeff Loch's opinion piece on whether camera technology blinds us. He wrote that the cost of the camera package was negligible for a budget feature film.
And I think that becomes very clear in the list above. If you had the money, why would you be so crazy about the experiment? You only need the most trustworthy camera. And it appears to be just an ARRI ALEXA camera.
The question is: Can any other manufacturer come up with something that can rival ARRI's dominance in feature-length filmmaking? At this point I doubt it.
